Tutor, Caroline and student, Grace recently shared their wonderful outing with us! It was a privilege to hear from both tutor and learner:

“Today I invited my student Grace and her son, Frank, along with two of my kids, to a day adventuring in the city. I thought it would be fun to learn about the history of the Chinese in Australia. My kids have a tiny bit of Chinese ancestry as well so it was interesting for everyone. We all had a great time at the Chinese History Museum then wandered through Chinatown learning about the history of the buildings. We finished with lunch at a restaurant chosen by Frank which coincidentally turned out to specialise in noodles from the city in China from which they hail – Chongqing! The museum had all the signage in two languages which made it easier for Grace to absorb but the rest of the day was one long extended English lesson! A delightful day for all of us.”

“It was a very meaningful day on July 7th. My tutor Caroline invited us to visit the Chinese Museum together. My son and I were very happy. We talked with Caroline and her two children in English all the way. It was fun and effective to learn English. Caroline is a very caring and very responsible tutor, I am honoured to learn English and everything about Australia from her. When she learned about my situation, she did not hesitate to care and help us. Even in order to solve my son’s language barrier, she volunteered to ask her son and daughter to help my son. Let us deeply feel the Australian people’s enthusiasm and readiness to help others”
