What is an Escape Bag?

‘Escape Bags’ are free, tote bags kindly made with love by volunteers with the necessities that a victim of abuse and his/her children may need when initially escaping a dangerous or abusive situation.

Each ‘Escape Bag’ contains high-quality products as we understand the importance of feeling comforted and worthy in a crisis. Our ‘Escape Bags’ are not gender-specific and, by providing two variations, ‘Parent and Child’ and ‘Single Adult’, we proudly cater for all victims of abuse.

The Rosanna Fire Station Community House are offering free Escape Bags for families & individuals escaping domestic & family abuse. Each ‘Escape Bag’ contains the necessities that a victim of abuse & his/her children may need when fleeing an abusive or dangerous situation. ‘Escape Bags’ are not gender-specific, providing two variations: ‘Parent & Child’ & ‘Single Adult’.

Able to Plan your Escape?

If you are in a position to plan your escape, here are some suggestions that you may want to consider adding to your ‘Escape Bag’.

• A cheap Mobile Phone with a Prepaid Sim Card and Phone Charger.
• Important documents for you and your children i.e Birth Certificates, Driving Licence, Passports, Visas and Medicare Cards.
• Medication, Glasses, Contact Lenses and Prescriptions
• Emergency cash or Private Bank Card
• Public Transport Pass
• Names, Addresses and Phone Numbers of relatives, friends and other important helplines.
• Bottled Water
• Sentimental Items or Comfort Items belonging to your children i.e favourite Teddy Bear.
• A change of clothes for you and your children.
• Warm blankets.
